Formula Hybrid 2022 released!

In Announcement, Assetto Corsa, Formula Hybrid 2022, Release

The long wait is finally over, the Formula Hybrid 2022 has been released!

You can find our new car here and with a special 10% discount for the next two weeks!

Be sure to check out our store for other discounts too!

The Project

This new project for the 2022 season features for the first time two car models based on an RSS chassis (represented in game as Formula Hybrid 2022 and Formula Hybrid 2022 S), with custom sounds and physics packages for each one, creating two unique driving experiences. The vehicle is constructed as one of the few that are available in the market that are designed to the rule-set.

You can expect the best quality in the graphics department, with unmatched 3d models and textures that are constructed and optimized to only RSS’s standards. Every single object of the car does not exist without careful thought and world-class development and knowledge of these technical pillars within digital art. There are many wonderful features with this car to list here; we will let you discover them for yourself.

As a bonus, we have also produced an optional package for Custom Shader Patch tool’s Extended Physics functionality. This provides additional capabilities for the physics while keeping our core design intact. And as a side-note, while it is a characteristic that teams are handling better, porpoising is possible under certain setup conditions.

The Brands

The steering wheel is sponsored by Rexing featuring a 1:1 virtual creation of their Rexing Mayaris Formula Wheel with illuminated push-buttons and more cool features.

The real-world Nascita Linex model seat of our Formula Hybrid 2022 cars is provided courtesy of Formula Sim Rigs.

And a special thanks to RaceDepartment for their continued support in the scene: RD Premium Members can save 5% on their purchase of the car from next week!

RSS Team

Many of you are likely wondering why we are releasing our Formula Hybrid this late. Our production was affected by the war in Ukraine, which delayed our release more than we desired. The good news is our team is safe and we are finally 100% back with more projects and announcements soon!

As always, we would like to thank you for your continued support of our hard work we enjoy bringing to the sim racing community.

Yes, the non S feels much lighter and nimble around corners. I found the S quite “heavy” but quite controllable. The experience is completely different between the two but I really enjoy driving both.

We have no plans for that for now.

Little bit strange tyre model? Hard and ultra soft very close in performance or its only me?

    • Race Sim Studio
      Reply

Maybe because you have high tire temperatures and it suits better the harder compound?

Yes, there are slight differences in aerodynamics, engine and steering feeling.

Do we have to buy it all over again? Since we already had the 2022 version shouldn’t we just get an update

:I send it to support, but i keep it here just in case: Hi there. I’m using the new Formula Hybrid car and i find a problem with the wheel. Well, when the tyre blow up you can see the free space instead wheel. It’s not too critical, but if this happened calluses the eye. Please, fix it in a new version of this brilliant car.

Are there wet tires to use for the CSP with rain extentsion mod? The old 2022 only has visual wets, as far as I know and with the rain the old 2022 is pretty much undriveable in the with the visual wets.

(for some reason the comment didn’t show up the first time)

I haven’t seen anyone with such issue, did you try to re-install the car or eventually re-download the car again? Maybe the file got corrupted somehow.

Great car, love the handling and the graphic options. One thing though, in sunlight I can´t see the shifting lights on the steering wheel. Is there a way to make them brighter ?

Bravo! I almost did not buy this release as I already own two versions of a 2022 Formula car. That would have been a great shame as the Formula Hybrid 2022 is in a class of its own. Fortunately, based on previous excellent cars from RSS, and wanting to support the developers during such a difficult time in their country, I decided to buy one more. All I can say is, “Amazing!” The physics are at a whole new level that I have not experienced in AC before, particularly with the S version (remember to check “use unpacked data” and “use extended physics” in Content Manager to unlock Custom Shaders Patch in all its glory). Apart from excellent FFB through my wheel, the feedback through my ButtKicker Gamer is outstanding and I can clearly feel the rear of the car starting to break away. Love it! At less than $5 Canadian, this has to be the absolute best buy of the year. Thank you, and keep up the excellent work, guys!

Bought this yesterday. Amazing models, I spent all night racing and tweaking. My only other F1 experience is the official games and they have no match to these models. The handling is superb.

Hello, just bought this but was curious, so why is there a 2022 Hybrid X (which I have as well) and then this model? Thanks!

    • Race Sim Studio
      Reply

We release a new Hybrid every year, and the Hybrid X was already a 2 year old car. It was done based on the initial concepts and performance estimations, while the new one is based on the actual cars.

it is for me, but there are optional physics that im pretty sure automatically update with csp 1.77 and higher that adds porpoising and probably a few other slight physics things.

  • -Wolfy-

Hello again. Could you make Porpoising more visible? I would also like to see sparks that will fly out from under the bottom of the car. There are such things in the VRC model, so I would like to see them in your beautiful model! I’m sorry if i’m writting in the wrong place.
